Voltron Force - The Storm Before The Calm

Not long after the destructive incident on Earth, Voltron was decommissioned by Galaxy Alliance High Command, by order of Sky Marshal Wade. Four of the Voltron Lions - Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue - were deactivated and placed on lockdown on the planet Arus, but Black Lion, the crucial centre of Voltron, disappeared.

The Voltron Force commander Keith Kogane, and pilots Lance McClain, Tsuyoshi "Hunk" Garrett, and Darrell "Pidge" Stoker were all reassigned to internal Galaxy Alliance positions, leaving Princess Allura Raimon, the Blue Lion pilot, alone on Arus to lead her people.

It was a tearful moment for Allura as she bade farewell to her friends, and especially her beloved Keith.

Lance, Hunk, and Pidge departed for Earth to work undercover within the Alliance, but Keith went off on his own to investigate Black Lion's disappearance, cultivating underworld contacts and becoming a fugitive in the process.

While doing this illustration I was inspired by the song "The Lightning Strike" by Snow Patrol, specifically the first four verses which, when seen from Keith's point of view, are absolutely perfect.
